We recommend changing your chiller water filter at least once every month, but this is dependant on how quickly the ice bath water gets dirt buildup.

I’ve had it three weeks , I love it
I’ve had it three weeks , I love it . Had it at 5 sometimes 2 sometimes 8 .not used it everyday . But most mornings, and after I come back from BJJ . I’ve just cleaned it out and changed the filter . The hair filter was fine , the micron filter was a bit mucky green a bit and some grass in there .

Missing part, horrible customer service
Very disappointing experience.
The product arrived with a missing part, making it unusable as intended. I tried contacting customer support through the live chat multiple times and was mostly ignored. The one time someone responded, I was told to wait 10 minutes, and then the representative simply went offline.
I also sent several emails and never received a response.
A missing part is one thing, but completely ignoring customers is unacceptable. Based on my experience, Lumitherapy's customer service has been extremely poor.

Perfect Chiller for my ice bath requirements
Really happy with my purchase. I looked at several chillers on the market to pair with my ice bath and the Lumi mini chiller 2 stood out as the right model for me with Bluetooth app connection, ozone filtration, and with the discount made the it the right price at £669.
I’ve had it for a month now, and we’ve just had a heatwave and this chiller kept my water icy cold at 6 degrees. No problem! I’m confident it will go colder but need more time to get used to going colder as 6 is absolutely freezing when all you are used to is cold tap water with a few ice blocks chucked in. Top job Lumi 👍🏼

Game changer!!
Initially was disappointed with the product as I couldn't get the 2-3° temperatures that was advertised. After a bit of back and forth with LUMI i realised it was actually operator error. I set the temp way too early compared to when I was due a dip so the chiller had chilled into the 2° range but then cut its chilling phase off at some point overnight resulting in me only seeing temps of 4° and up in the morning. After this operator error I changed my timings and since I have regularly enjoyed dips in the 2-3° range. Genuine games changer compared to prepping massive amounts of ice. The filtration keeps it clean and im about to clean it out for the first time in 6 weeks

This is an expensive unit- that I have been unable to connect to the suggested app- many of the features you want to use are app controlled- as the “touch” sensitive controller on the unit - is not very touch sensitive

Does not work as advertised
It states 2C but in reality it hits 2C then turns off and will sit at 3C. The screen and settings on the device as well as the app have no option to select anything lower than 3C. Product support has turned into a debate and not offering a full refund as iv turned it on. They operate with no regard to customer wrights and trading standards. Go with another brand like polar or Myo.

Cold Water Immersion
When your body first contacts cold water, specialised cold receptors in your skin immediately activate. These thermo receptors, called TRPM8 channels, are found throughout your skin and trigger within milliseconds of cold exposure.
The initial response includes:
Cold Shock Response (0-3 minutes)
Involuntary gasping
Hyperventilation
Increased heart rate and blood pressure
Triggered by TRPM8 receptors sending signals via A-delta nerve fibers
Cold-Induced Vasoconstriction (1-30 minutes)
Blood vessels near skin surface constrict
Blood redirects to core organs
Controlled by sympathetic nervous system
Results in decreased skin temperature and the 'cold, numb' feeling
Adaptation Phase (ongoing with regular exposure)
Cold receptors become less sensitive
Initial shock response diminishes
Body becomes better at maintaining core temperature
The cold receptors (primarily TRPM8 and some TRPA1) are ion channels that change shape when cooled, allowing calcium ions to flow into nerve cells, triggering action potentials that signal 'cold' to your brain.
Regular cold exposure can enhance this adaptation response, which is why consistent cold water immersion practitioners report diminished shock response over time.
For cold water immersion benefits, the optimal temperature ranges depend on your specific goals:
For most therapeutic benefits: 50-59°F (10-15°C) is the sweet spot
For immune system stimulation: 53-59°F (12-15°C)
For recovery from exercise: 50-59°F (10-15°C)
For cold shock protein activation: Below 59°F (15°C)
For brown fat activation: 57-66°F (14-19°C)
The research suggests that water around 55°F (13°C) provides a good balance of benefits while remaining tolerable for most people. At this temperature, a 2-3 minute immersion is typically sufficient to trigger the physiological responses.
Colder temperatures (below 50°F/10°C) can provide stronger stimulation but increase risks and reduce safe exposure time. Warmer temperatures (above 60°F/16°C) require longer immersion times to achieve similar effects.
For beginners, starting with slightly warmer water (around 60°F/16°C) for shorter durations (1-2 minutes) allows your body to adapt gradually before progressing to colder temperatures.
The key is consistency rather than extreme cold – regular immersion at moderate cold temperatures provides more benefits than occasional very cold exposure.

Upgraded to the pro with mini ultra chiller
What an upgrade! We were ice bathing in what we thought was ice water (with 7 large ice blocks), we thought it was cold until we started using the pro pod with the chiller unit. Left it running through the night and woke up to the coldest ice bath yet. So far really impressed with the upgrade quality and not having to mess about with ice blocks after every use is a massive win when you’re busy.

I'm just missing : - 1) a EU socket outlet (as the MiniChiller is shipped with a UK socket outlet here in Belgium, I'm missing a European socket outlet... But it seems to be working fine with a simple converter UK -> EU) - 2) a longer power cable, but I can live without ;)

I hope this review really helps people. I run my own Brazilian
Jiu-Jitsu school and have been doing ice baths for over a year. My friend has tried a good few chillers but I took a change on the lumi one as I didn’t find any reviews. I can honestly say this chiller completely wipes the floor with the ones my friend purchased and is half the price and to the point my friend has now purchased this chiller. I have the pro barrel and it works absolutely brilliant, seriously stop thinking about it and make the purchase it’s more then worth it 🙏🏻

Be careful with this company...
Never worked and LUMI "support" just don't respond to any emails, which seems to be a common thread across other review sites. Conveniently, there's also no phone number to talk about any challenges. My unit had to go back to their workshop and they've not responded for 2 weeks so I'm £700 out of pocket with nothing to show for it. Small Claims Court is the next step which is a waste of everyone's time and energy, but no other option.

Puis-je utiliser le refroidisseur à l'extérieur s'il pleut ?
Lorsque cela est spécifié, nos unités de refroidissement sont conçues pour être résistantes à l'eau et classées pour une utilisation en extérieur, garantissant des performances fiables en extérieur.
Cependant, pour votre sécurité et celle des autres, assurez-vous que le refroidisseur est branché sur une prise CA appropriée pour une utilisation en extérieur, correctement mise à la terre, dotée d'un parasurtenseur intégré et, idéalement, classée IP65.
Éteignez toujours le refroidisseur avant de commencer votre séance de thérapie par l'eau froide. Bien que nos refroidisseurs, lorsque cela est spécifié, aient un indice de protection IPX pour la résistance à l'eau, il est toujours recommandé de les garder au sec en tout temps.
N'immergez pas, n'éclaboussez pas et ne vaporisez pas d'eau sur l'unité de refroidissement.
Puis-je ajouter du brome à l'eau ?
Oui, vous pouvez !
Si vous souhaitez que l'eau dure plus longtemps, l'utilisation de comprimés ou de poudre de brome devrait prolonger la durée d'utilisation jusqu'à 1 mois.
Le brome est plus doux pour la peau et dure plus longtemps que le chlore dans l'eau froide et vous n'aurez besoin que d'une très petite quantité pour être efficace.
Le refroidisseur doit-il rester allumé ?
Nous recommandons de laisser votre refroidisseur allumé lorsque le bain de glace n'est pas utilisé. Cela lui permet de filtrer continuellement l'eau, garantissant ainsi sa fraîcheur.
Le refroidisseur s'éteint automatiquement une fois qu'il atteint la température réglée, optimisant ainsi l'efficacité énergétique.
Mais n'oubliez pas, pour des raisons de sécurité, de toujours éteindre l'unité de refroidissement pendant votre séance de bain de glace.
Le traitement de l'eau à l'ozone est-il mauvais pour l'environnement ?
Le traitement de l'eau à l'ozone est bien meilleur pour l'environnement que l'utilisation de chlore !
Le dispositif de traitement de l'eau à l'ozone interne intégré au refroidisseur Thermo CT2 se décompose rapidement en oxygène au contact de l'eau, aidant à éliminer rapidement les microbes.
Combien de temps dure l'ozone ?
Le générateur d'ozone du refroidisseur CT2 s'active environ toutes les heures pendant 5 minutes. Cela peut être ajusté à la hausse ou à la baisse en fonction des besoins.
Nous recommandons de laisser le refroidisseur allumé en permanence pour maintenir l'eau en mouvement et l'ozone actif.
Comment entretenir le refroidisseur ?
Comment l'entretenir, est-ce comme la climatisation de ma voiture, qui doit être rechargée en gaz tous les ans environ ?
L'entretien concerne uniquement les filtres, le nettoyage de la grille métallique du refroidisseur et le remplacement du filtre à particules.
Le système de pompe à chaleur est entièrement scellé et testé contre les fuites, et ne devrait jamais nécessiter d'entretien. Les pompes de débit principal et d'amorçage ont une durée de vie exceptionnelle et devraient durer plus de 10 ans en utilisation continue.
Que se passe-t-il en cas de panne du refroidisseur, et comment puis-je le savoir ?
En général, les seuls problèmes qui peuvent survenir sont la saleté et les débris qui obstruent les filtres et finissent par passer dans les systèmes internes.
Cela entraîne un débit faible et, à terme, plus de refroidissement. Si cela se produit, vous pouvez rincer le système avec un fort jet d'eau et nous aurons plus tard un produit de nettoyage disponible pour cela.
Nous avons une garantie d'un an qui couvre tous les problèmes de fabrication, et nous proposerons bientôt un plan de service pour que nos ingénieurs se rendent sur place et résolvent tout problème.
